Cooper Connolly, is an emerging Australian cricketer known for his all-round abilities as a left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He made his debut for the Scorchers on 7 January 2023 against Brisbane Heat, and his contribution in the final was crucial, scoring 25 runs off just 11 balls to help secure the Scorchers’ victory, showcasing his composure and ability to perform in high-pressure situations.



His List A debut came later that year on 24 September 2023, when he represented Western Australia in the 2023–24 Marsh One-Day Cup against Queensland. Connolly's growth as a cricketer was further exemplified by his first-class debut for Western Australia in the 2023–24 Sheffield Shield final against Tasmania, where he scored a solid 90 runs in the first innings, signalling his potential to excel in the longer format of the game.



In July 2024, Connolly’s rapid rise was rewarded with a call-up to Australia’s T20I squad for their upcoming tour of England and Scotland. He made his T20I debut against Scotland on 7 September 2024, before earning his first ODI cap on 29 September 2024 in a match against England.



In January 2025, Cooper earned a call-up to Australia's Test squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. Ahead of the second Test, he received his Baggy Green from former all-rounder Simon Katich, officially becoming the 471st player to represent Australia in Test cricket.
