Nasum made his T20I debut for Bangladesh in 2021, against New Zealand. He quickly made headlines with standout performances, notably taking 4 wickets for 19 runs against Australia later that year, leading Bangladesh to their first T20I win over the Aussies. Another highlight was his 4 for 10 against New Zealand in September 2021, securing a series win for Bangladesh. He was subsequently named in the squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Nasum transitioned to the ODI format, making his debut in 2022, against the West Indies. In his second ODI, he impressed with figures of 3 for 19, playing a pivotal role in Bangladesh's victory.
