Sufyan Moqim

Pakistan
Bowler
Left-arm wrist spin 24 yrs.

Sufyan Moqim occupies a unique space in Pakistan's bowling stocks as one of the country's few genuine left-arm wrist spinners. Hailing from the town of Baithak Balouch in Pallandri, his rise is a story of raw ability finding its way through sheer determination. Originally a tape-ball cricketer, he relocated to Rawalpindi to play proper club cricket under the Sabih Azhar Cricket Academy, quickly translating his wrist-spin variations into first-class and international-grade performances.

Moqim first gained widespread recognition on the pathway circuit in July 2023, where his crucial spell of 3 for 66 in the final of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup helped Pakistan A defeat India A to lift the title. He made his senior international debut shortly after in October 2023 against Hong Kong at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. His international career reached a remarkable high in December 2024 during a T20I series against Zimbabwe, where he delivered a record-equalling spell, taking 5 wickets for just 3 runs.

On the domestic and franchise front, Moqim became the cornerstone of Peshawar Zalmi's bowling attack in the Pakistan Super League. His PSL 2026 campaign was nothing short of extraordinary. 22 wickets at an average of 14.40 and an economy rate of 7.20 earned him both the Player of the Tournament and Best Bowler honours as Zalmi lifted the PSL title.
