Commentary
We are back for the second chapter to unfold! Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan walks out to open for Bangladesh. The players of Zimbabwe have taken their respective fielding positions. Richard Ngarava has the new ball in hand. Let's play...
... THE RUN CHASE ...
The death over masterclass - Bangladesh's bowling unit put on an absolute clinic at the back end, completely choking the scoring avenues to restrict Zimbabwe to 143/7. The spinners built immense pressure through the middle phases before Saifuddin and Saqlain reaped the rewards with regular breakthroughs in the slog overs. Spearheaded by a remarkably parsimonious spell from Taskin Ahmed, who finished with stellar figures of 0/16, the Tigers surrendered a measly 34 runs in the final six overs to leave the Chevrons at least 20 runs short. Target 144 for Bangladesh. Stay tuned for the chase!
Myers anchors the innings - The mid-innings platform looked promising as Myers and Bennett rotated the strike effortlessly to keep the scoreboard ticking over. The momentum shifted drastically, however, when Saifuddin castled Bennett just shy of his half-century, triggering a collapse that saw skipper Sikandar Raza depart cheaply. While wickets tumbled in heaps around him, Myers stood tall as the lone warrior, anchoring the side with a brilliant 74 off 53 balls before finally tracking back to the dugout in the final over.
Zimbabwe end their innings at 143/7 - Zimbabwe endured a stuttering start to their innings as Mahedi Hasan removed Marumani early, making boundaries hard to come by. However, Brian Bennett injected immediate impetus into the camp, taking the attack to the seamers with a flurry of boundaries to guide the side to a respectable 40/1 in the Powerplay. Alongside Dion Myers, Bennett stabilized the innings, leaving the contest perfectly balanced after the initial exchange.

Commentary
Dropping down the curtains! Bangladesh have emerged victorious, clinching the series 2-1. That's all from us for this series, but hang on a minute. There is still some cricket going on around the world. You can switch tabs and join the coverage of the ODI between India and England, where the first innings is done, and India now have to chase a mammoth total, or you can join the clash of West Indies and New Zealand, which has just started. The choice is yours. It's a goodbye from this commentary box, and thanks a lot for joining. Cheers!
Smiles and silverware - Towhid Hridoy proudly accepts the trophy after the post-match interview, passing it on to his teammates. They gather in front of the 'winners' board, beaming with joy as they snap pictures with the trophy in hand. The elation on the faces of the Bangladeshi players and coaching staff is unmistakable. Yes, they were not at their best on this tour of Zimbabwe, but at least they will have some good memories to take back home.
The captain of Bangladesh - Towhid Hridoy praises his team's bounce-back performance. He notes how both the batting and bowling units dominated after a strategic team meeting following their opening loss. He praises Rishad Hossain for seizing his opportunity as a dominant bowler and credits Tanzid Hasan as a class batter who excels at finishing games once set.
Player of the Match and Series - Tanzid Hasan is the Player of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 66 runs, and he is the Player of the Series as well for scoring 144 runs in the T20I series. He expresses his delight at winning the T20I series, especially after earlier defeats in the Test and ODIs. He praises the Bangladeshi bowlers for restricting Zimbabwe to a low score and says that his batting strategy was simply to stay calm, build partnerships, and play the ball on its merit. Tanzid adds that he kept his composure during the tense finish because he knew that if he batted through to the end, he could guide his team across the line.
The skipper of Zimbabwe - Sikandar Raza says that 155 would have been a good score. He adds that they finished 10-15 runs short. He credits Bangladesh for the win and praises his seamers for their brilliant fightback. He says that the side's fielding was poor and there was a lack of game awareness. Raza also notes that it was a narrow defeat and that they will bounce back.
Presentations coming up...
Evans igniteed the final over - With 5 runs needed off the last six balls, Brad Evans turned the final over into absolute theatre. A single off the first ball put Tanzid at the non-striker's end, and Evans immediately capitalised by clean-bowling Mosaddek Hossain. The seamer then dismissed Mohammad Saifuddin for a golden duck on the next delivery. Suddenly, Evans was on a hat-trick, and the Tigers were sweating with 4 runs still required off the remaining 3 balls. Mahedi Hasan, however, showed nerves of steel to survive the hat-trick ball and steer his side home. Bangladesh reached the target with two balls to spare, securing a thrilling 4-wicket win. While they made life unnecessarily difficult for themselves, the Tigers held their composure when it mattered most, pulling off a brilliant comeback to seal the T20I series 2-1.
Tanzid anchored the chase - Bangladesh stalled early against Muzarabani and Ngarava, managing just 30/1 in the Powerplay. However, Tanzid Hasan broke the shackles with a crucial half-century, combining with Emon first for a 55-run stand and then with skipper Towhid Hridoy for a 63-run partnership to put the Tigers back in the driver's seat. Bangladesh looked to be cruising in their chase of 144, led by an unbeaten 66 from opener Tanzid Hasan. Needing just 22 runs from the final four overs with a set batter in the middle, a comfortable victory seemed locked in. However, Zimbabwe's frontline quicks fought back brilliantly. Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava bowled exceptional 18th and 19th overs, conceding just 5 and 4 runs respectively, to drag the game into a tense final-over showdown.
Myers holds firm in the first innings - Electing to bat, the Chevrons started well but lost momentum after the halfway mark. Brian Bennett hit a quick 47, but Dion Myers was the standout performer, anchoring the innings with a gritty 73 off 53 balls. However, he received no support as no other Zimbabwean batter reached double figures. Bangladesh's bowlers chipped away regularly, with Saifuddin, Saqlain, Mahedi, and Rishad sharing the wickets to restrict the hosts to a below-par 143/7.
Bangladesh clinch the T20I series - After being pushed completely to the brink following defeats in the one-off Test, the ODI series, and an opening-match setback in the T20Is, the Tigers have staged a sensational rescue act. With their backs firmly against the wall, Bangladesh have roared back to secure consecutive victories, turning the series on its head to clinch the T20I silverware.
FOUR! That will do for Bangladesh! A high full toss outside off, Mahedi Hasan picks it well and punches it magnificently over cover for a boundary. Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 4 wickets and win the T20I series 2-1.
Absolute drama on the hat-trick ball! Evans traps Mahedi for LBW, but the umpire instantly signals a dead ball. A fielder was caught moving in the outfield just before the release. A massive escape for Mahedi, and Evans will have to bowl it all over again. 4 runs needed from 3 balls now.
OUT! TAKEN! Back-to-back wickets for Brad Evans. Hard length, on middle, Mohammad Saifuddin moves to his off side and tries to go big. He looks to heave it over mid-wicket but doesn't connect well. The ball goes straight in the hands of Ryan Burl at mid-wicket, who makes no mistake. Don't go anywhere!
4 runs needed from 4 balls now. Mohammad Saifuddin walks in to bat now.
OUT! TIMBER! Game on. Is there a twist in the tale? Brad Evans bowls a full toss, on off, Mosaddek Hossain stays back, makes room, and looks to drive it, but misses it completely as the ball rattles over the off pole. Bangladesh are 5 down now and still needs 4 runs off 4 deliveries.
Full and outside off, Tanzid Hasan steers it to backward point for a single.

DRINKS BREAK! After the end of the first 10 overs, Zimbabwe have put up 69 runs on the board, losing just one wicket. We have to give credit to Brian Bennett for showing his grit and resilience to put the pressure on the opposition despite giving away an early breakthrough. PITCH REPORT - Athar Ali Khan is alongside the pitch with his valuable insights. Starts off saying that the pitch is ideal for the batter and also notes that they will enjoy scoring runs on this deck. Further notes that 8 wicket swere picked by spinners and 200 will be a par score on this good overall batting pitch.
Zimbabwe (Playing XI) - Tadiwanashe Marumani (WK), Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, Sikandar Raza (C), Ryan Burl, Milton Shumba, Tinotenda Maposa (In place of Tashinga Musekiwa), Clive Madande, Brad Evans, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani.
Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon (WK), Towhid Hridoy( C), Yasir Ali, Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mosaddek Hossain (In place of Nurul Hasan), Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain (In place of Nahid Rana).
The skipper of Bangladesh - Towhid Hridoy says that they wanted to bat as well. He adds that toss is something they cannot control, and they will try to restrict Zimbabwe to a low total now. He reckons that they are excited for this game and ends by saying that Nahid Rana misses out.
The skipper of Zimbabwe - Sikandar Raza says that they will bat first. He adds that the wicket looks a bit hard and they will try to post a big total. He reckons that the last game was a bad day for them and they will try to bounce back. He adds that this is a real test of character for them as it is the last game and the series is leveled at 1-1. Ends by mentioning one change on their side.
TOSS - Zimbabwe have won the toss and will BAT first.
Winner takes all - The atmosphere is absolutely electric and the stage is set for an epic decider under beautiful skies. The traditional surface here loves to provide a balanced contest, meaning the team that handles the high pressure situations better will walk away with the trophy. Can the hosts finish their home summer on an absolute high, or will the fighting Tigers claim the ultimate prize! Don't go anywhere, the crucial toss is coming up next!
Tigers eye ultimate consistency - Bangladesh found their rhythm with a much improved performance, but their main challenge today will be replicating that explosive energy. The opening pair needs to double down on their template of building a solid platform without throwing away wickets in soft dismissals. However, the visitors face a major tactical hurdle with express pacer Nahid Rana ruled out due to a side strain. Shoriful Islam is expected to step into the side, and the bowling group must maintain their relentless pressure through spinners Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain to choke the opposition scoring rate right from the start.
Chevrons look to patch the leaks - For Zimbabwe, the biggest learning from their recent outing is the absolute need for defensive discipline in the death overs. The bowling unit must avoid leaking heavy runs at the backend and find a way to support the brilliant economical spells of Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza. The top order batters also need to show much more caution during the powerplay to prevent early collapses that leave the middle order with too much heavy lifting. They might even consider some changes in their lineups to boost their top order stability.
Showdown in Bulawayo - Hello and welcome to the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo! We are live for the grand finale of this thrilling three match T20 series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. With the series perfectly poised at 1-1, today is all about the ultimate glory. The stakes could not be higher as Zimbabwe aims to complete a historic clean sweep across Tests, ODI matches, and T20 action this summer, while Bangladesh fights desperately to secure their first series win of the entire tour!
... MATCH DAY ...
A grand finale in Bulawayo - The final showdown has arrived at the Queen's Sports Club in Bulawayo. Zimbabwe and Bangladesh have pushed each other to the limit throughout this tour, splitting the opening two T20 matches perfectly to set up a winner takes all decider. Zimbabwe set the tone in the first game with an emphatic performance, but Bangladesh roared back in the second match to level the series, turning this final fixture into a high stakes battle for silverware. With both teams desperate to close out the tour on a high note, the pressure will be immense when they take the field. The story so far - History shows a highly competitive rivalry when these two sides meet in the shortest format of the game. Bangladesh arrived in Zimbabwe looking to dominate, but the hosts have proved to be a tough nut to crack on their own turf. The tour has already seen a highly entertaining Test match and a fiercely contested ODI series, and now everything comes down to the final twenty overs of the T20 leg. Zimbabwe wants to prove that their opening victory was no fluke, while Bangladesh is determined to show their resilience and capture the trophy on foreign soil. Bangladesh find their rhythm - After a disappointing collapse in the series opener, Bangladesh turned things around beautifully in the second game. Their top order clicked perfectly, powered by Tanzid Hasan who smashed 58 runs, and Saif Hassan who anchored the innings with a solid 55 runs. Together, they propelled the team to an imposing total of 186 for 5. When it came to defending the target, their spinners completely choked the Zimbabwean batters. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was the chief wrecker, turning the game on its head with an exceptional spell of 4 wickets for 26 runs, well supported by Mahedi Hasan who picked up 3 wickets for 24 runs. Mohammad Saifuddin also chipped in with a vital wicket to help restrict the hosts and ensure a comfortable 34 run victory. Zimbabwe search for consistency - Zimbabwe looked unstoppable in the series opener, where they posted a strong 170 for 6 thanks to Brian Bennett's aggressive 44 runs, despite Bangladesh's Nahid Rana picking up 4 wickets for 26 runs. Zimbabwe's bowling unit was spectacular in that game, led by Blessing Muzarabani who dismantled the opposition with a phenomenal spell of 4 wickets for 17 runs, while Richard Ngarava provided excellent support to seal a 32 run win. However, the second match exposed some familiar pacing issues and bowling struggles. Brad Evans had a tough outing with the ball, conceding 65 runs in his 4 overs despite taking 2 wickets, and the batting lineup crumbled against elite spin under scoreboard pressure. Cameos from Ryan Burl and Brad Evans were not enough as the team was bowled out for 152 runs. Captain Sikandar Raza will need his team to put up a collective effort to avoid throwing away a golden opportunity at home. Team form (Last 5 completed T20Is, recent first) - ZIM - LWLLL | BAN - WLLLL. What to expect? The Queen's Sports Club pitch in Bulawayo has traditionally offered a balanced contest between bat and ball. Early on, the fresh deck is expected to give the seamers plenty of assistance with some movement in the air. Once the initial overs are navigated, the track usually flattens out, allowing batters to play their strokes freely on a reliable outfield. Winning the toss might tempt captains to bowl first to exploit any early moisture, but putting runs on the board in a crucial final match carries its own psychological advantage. Expect a packed house in Bulawayo as both teams give everything they have to walk away with the series trophy.

OUT!

OUT! TIMBER!
