You have to adjust as soon as possible - Ishan Kishan says the pitch wasn't easy to bat on. Ishan notes that it looked settled in the first innings after a few overs, but when they batted, it had double bounce and double pace at the same time, so it wasn't possible to take on the bowlers from ball one and because of that, he and his teammates took their time, knowing the target wasn't big and picking good shots when needed. On adapting to different pitches around the world, Ishan adds that as an international cricketer and professional, you have to adjust as soon as possible. He says there is no point playing shots that aren't on, because going for them and losing your wicket only sets the team back, and keeping the team first helps one judge the pitch in the middle and play the right shots.

PITCH REPORT - Ed Rainsford says the boundaries measure 75m and 69m square and 78m straight down the ground. Ed notes that today’s pitch looks very similar to the one from a few days ago, but it appears firmer, harder, and like a fantastic surface to bat on. According to him, 165 is the minimum par score, but with the wind and the shorter boundary on one side, he is looking at around 190. He adds that batters who hit with the wind towards the shorter boundary can cash in, while hitting against the wind to the 81m boundary won’t be easy. Overall, he puts the par score somewhere between 190 and 200.

The captain of India - Shreyas Iyer says that they would have batted first anyway. Adds that the pitch doesn't look as tacky as the first game. He expects the bounce to be even. Iyer mentions that it is important to enjoy the wins but also stay in the present and not get complacent. Informs that Yash Thakur replaces Ashok Sharma and is making his debut.

The skipper of Zimbabwe - Sikandar Raza says the pitch looks better than in the first game and might not be as spicy. Raza notes that it is winter in Harare, so there should still be enough in it for the seam bowlers to exploit. Raza also confirms that they are going in with the same team.

Iyer eyeing a captaincy milestone - On the flip side, the buoyant Indian camp will enter the arena looking to seal the bilateral trophy with a match to spare under the guidance of stand-in coach VVS Laxman. A victory today will carry massive emotional weight as it would officially secure Shreyas Iyer's first T20I series triumph as the Indian captain, breaking a challenging personal streak from his earlier assignments. Despite calls from cricketing pundits over their ultra-bold strategy of deploying only five specialist bowlers, leaving Shivam Dube with a lot of responsibility, Laxman and Iyer are expected to field an unchanged winning XI to maintain team continuity. However, the one area India will urgently want to fine-tune is their Powerplay dot-ball metrics and fielding consistency, ensuring they do not offer any window of opportunity to an unpredictable home side looking to break free. The teenage opener announced himself on the international stage in spectacular fashion, smashing 50 from just 19 balls, including four fours and four sixes. It was his maiden international half-century and made him the youngest player to score a fifty in international cricket for a Full Member nation. His breathtaking assault transformed what could have been a tricky chase into a one-sided contest and will have Zimbabwe searching for a way to contain him much earlier in the innings this time around. Mayank brings the heat - While Sooryavanshi stole the headlines with the bat, Mayank Yadav made an equally impressive return with the ball. The express pacer finished with 2/18 from his four overs, while Prince Yadav also claimed two wickets as Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum through the middle and death overs. Ashok Sharma also impressed on his debut with his pace and consistency. For a young Indian attack featuring genuine pace and plenty of variety, the opening performance will be hugely encouraging.
