Mir Hamza

Pakistan
Bowler
Left-arm medium 33 yrs.

Mir Hamza is a Pakistani left-arm medium pace bowler and we know that the country has produced some of the great of this breed in the world of cricket. Hamza has been a regular in the domestic circuit but the competition is so high that he hasn't quite made it to the national side regularly. He made his first-class debut in 2012 for the Karachi Whites and picked up three wickets in the first innings. He played his first List A game in the same year as well for Karachi Dolphins in a called-off game due to rain. He worked hard on his skills and abilities slowly and made himself pretty consistent in all formats. His record as of 2024 is that he has played over 100 FC matches and picked up over 400 wickets including over 25 five-wicket hauls. He also has over 100 wickets in List A and over 50 wickets in T20s. Hamza's exploit in his home country also earned him a contract with Surrey for the 2019 English Championship where he impressed as well. However, before that, he already made his Test debut for Pakistan in 2018 in a historic win over Australia. However, he couldn't make much of an impact on the international stage and had to go back and grind it at the domestic level. He played his second Test after four years in 2022 against New Zealand. However, his breakthrough performance came in the Boxing Day Test against Australia in 2023. Hamza picked up a sensational six-wicket haul in the second innings which included scalps of David Warner, Travis Head, and Mitchell Marsh. In 2024, he was named in the Test squad for the series against Bangladesh.
